Metro is reviewing its 480 Kainga & Northern Star bus services and the public is being invited to give feedback and suggest improvements.
An extension of the 480 Kainga service through to Kaiapoi is being considered as part of this review, which I find rather interesting. I have always felt there is scope for running additional Northern Star services via Marshlands Rd & Shirley/The Palms, so perhaps this is a step in that direction. An hourly frequency Monday-Saturday is also being considered.
The Northern Star review covers the routes 90 (Rangiora direct), 92 (Rangiora via Woodend & Waikuku), 912 (Woodend shuttle), and 913 (Woodend shuttle via Waikuku). Interestingly, the survey asks whether people would use a Kaiapoi to the Palms service.
It also looks like an Oxford to Rangiora service is being considered. It will be particularly interesting to see how this turns out as I recently blogged that such an initiative was logical.
